Portorož hosts the KD Gorica team in the Primorska derby, which was a better opponent in Portorož's shortened season last year. The Portorož team completed the preparatory part with a lot of problems due to injuries and illness, during which time they also played four friendly matches in which they recorded two victories (Ježica, Plama Pur) and two defeats (Ježica, ECE Triglav). Unfortunately, she failed to play any of the matches in the complete lineup.

According to the playing reinforcements of many teams, SKL will again be at a higher quality level, which quite a few teams have brought players with many years of first-league experience in their ranks, thus showing that they are aiming for the top of the second-league competition. Of the Primorska second leagues, the team of Mesarija Prink from Sežana strengthened the most, followed by KD Postojna, KD Gorica and KK Portorož kept the cores of last year's teams, with Kavgič (Ita), Radanovič and Miklavčič (Postojna) returning to the Portorož team.
