After the home defeat against Medvode, the sailors came to Ježica in a complete line-up, Kavgič played for the first time after an injury, and Andraž Rogelja after suffering from an abdominal virus. The latter played the first half excellently, scoring 15 points for a high lead of the Portorožans – 32:45. At half-time, however, Andrz again developed digestive problems, so he was no longer able to help his teammates in the second half. This was made excellent use of by the hosts, who played very aggressively, on the edge of the foul (“and occasionally over the edge”), which the referee’s criteria allowed them to do, in a few minutes they managed to eliminate the advantage of the Sailors and by the end of the game it was basket by basket. In the end, the hosts had a bit more composure and luck, scoring two more points.
This is the third defeat in a row for Portorož, and on Saturday they will host a strong team of Trots from Novo mesto, with whom the hosts have a very negative mutual balance.
