U20 MIKLAVŽ - PORTOROŽ 73 : 78
The younger members were guests in Miklavž and after a tense game they drove away the hosts with a score of 78:73.
U20 – KK MIKLAVŽ – KK PORTOROŽ 73: 78 ( 22: 21, 16: 18, 17: 14, 18: 25).
It wasn’t until the final quarter that the young Portorožans crushed the resistance of the struggling locals.
In the first quarter, the game was tied, the teams traded leads, the hosts quickly took a 9-2 lead
(they hit 2 threes), but Bordon, Haskic and Rodman turned the score around 9-10 in a matter of minutes.
A series of home teams followed, leading 17-12, then 20-14, followed by a three-pointer by Bordon, free throws by Koren and a basket and an additional free throw by Haskič for the final 22-21.
In the second quarter, the hosts led 28:26, followed by a turnaround and Portorož’s lead 28:32 and
32: 34. The hosts again led 37-34 and 38-36, but in the final moments of the half, Bordon hit a three-pointer to give Portorož a 38-39 lead.
In the third quarter, the hosts again led 47-44 with three consecutive three-pointers and held the lead 55-53 for the rest of the quarter.
In the final quarter, the hosts also took the lead (+8) 65-57. The hosts led 68-61 in the 36th minute, followed by a turnover: a three-pointer by Bordona and five consecutive points by Kilibarda for 68-69.
The hosts again led 70:69, with a basket by Koren to give Portorož a 70:71 lead again.
The hosts hit 2 free throws and took the lead again 72:71, with a basket by Kilibarda in the 39th minute Portorož came back to the lead 73:72, in the next attack the hosts had two free throws, hitting only one for 73:73. The decisive three-pointer was then scored by Haskič 73-76, the hosts then squandered the offense and in the next attack, Cergolj scored the final score 73-78.
A tough but well-deserved victory for Portorož.
U18 PORTOROŽ - KOPER MODRI 88 : 56
In the local derby, a reliable and high victory for the Puerto Rican juniors.
KK PORTOROŽ – BC KOPER MODRI 88: 56 ( 19: 17, 21: 12, 20: 13, 18: 14).
The game was tied only in the first quarter, which ended with a minimal 19-17 lead for the hosts.
The Coppers led by partial scores of 6-9, 11-13, 15-17, followed by a series of Portorožans 4-0 for the final score of the quarter 19-17.
At the beginning of the second quarter, Portorož made a series of 10:2 (29:19) and the difference then grew minute by minute for the final 50:29 – at half-time. The hosts also dominated the third and fourth quarters for a high final score of 88-56.
