Defeat against Ježica 84: 91

Portorož - Ježica 84: 91 (26: 34, 23: 19, 24: 13, 11: 25)

With Ježica leading by two points in the 39th minute (82: 84), the Sailors wasted two attacks, followed by a quick penalty and 7 consecutive points of the guests (82: 91), the final result was set by the home captain Cvetičanin (84: 91).
Otherwise, the game started better for the guests, after the initial lead of the Portorožans (9:8) followed a series of guests 0:9 for a partial result of 9:17, with a series of 3-point shots Ježica maintained the lead and then won the first quarter for 8 (26:34) (with the last 6 points scoring in just 15 seconds after incredible mistakes by the hosts on passes). In the second quarter, the visitors led 30-43 and 32-45. A series of baskets by the hosts followed, who managed to tie the score by halftime to reduce the score to -4 (49-53). A turnaround ensued in the third quarter, with a zone defense almost completely disabling the Hedgehogs and winning the quarter with a partial score of 24-13 for a 73-66 lead.
As is unfortunately usual this season, the Mariners’ shooting eclipse followed at the beginning of the last quarter, with Haskič scoring a basket in six minutes and Cvetičanin scoring a three-pointer in six minutes. Hedgehog led 78-79. Also in the rest of the game, only Haskič scored 4 (two goals) and Cvetičanin scored from under the basket in the last attack.   Unfortunately, the Portorož team wasted too many open throws in the last 10 minutes.
There were too many passing errors, too, so that in the end the result is the twelfth defeat of the season.
With the defeat, Portorož unfortunately seems to have wasted their chances for the final 7th place, which could have avoided a strong Triglav team in the first round of the playoffs.
The best scorer of Portorož was captain Cvetičanin 20 points (4 three-pointers), followed by Škerbec 14 points (1x3T), Rogelja A. 12 points (2x3T), Haskič 12 points, Rogelja S. 10 points, Kilibarda 6 points (1x3T), Bahor 5 points (1x3T), Kavgič 3 points (1x 3T), Končar 2 points, Krmac and Cleg finished the game without a basket. Vogrin didn’t get a chance to play.

In the last round, Portorož is away to Troti in Novo Mesto, who are in the game for the final 2nd place and a better starting point in the playoffs.
The first round of the playoffs follows.
