KK PORTOROŽ - AKK BRANIK 83:71 (21:21, 19:18, 24:17, 19:15 )
In the match of the third round of the 2nd SKL, the undefeated teams KK Portorož and AKK Branik from Maribor met in the Lucija sports hall. Both teams performed weakened, the home team without the injured Alen Katonar and Deni Hodžič, who has been ordered quarantined due to contact with Covid-19. The guests came to the game with only 9 basketball players, earning them the penalty of league commissioner.
A very even match of two equal opponents was decided at the end of the 3rd quarter, when the home team made a difference of +8.
At the beginning of the match, the guests from Maribor were in the lead, taking the lead with 10:17 at the end of the 6th minute, and by the end of the quarter, the home team caught them at 21:21.

In the second half, Rogelja and Gorbachov kept the home team's lead with a minimum lead. In the last 2 minutes, the home center Šćekić scored 6 consecutive baskets for 64:56 and fot the highest advantage of the home team so far.
In the last quarter, Portorož took the lead by 11 points (67:56) after Gorbachov's triple and it seemed that the home team had finally break trough. However, the Maribor team did not give up and after a series of baskets by Nuhanovič and Tomažič, they reduced it to 69:65. After a time-out by the home strategist Samo Miška, Kojadinović scored 5 points in a row, Gorbachov added two and at the time 36:it was again +11 (76:65). By the end of the match, Rogelja and Gorbachov scored for the result of 83:68 , Nuhanovič only mitigated the defeat of Maribor for the final 83:71 - 5 seconds before the end. The scorers for the home team were Rogelja 27, Kojadinovič 17, Gorbachov 15, Cvetičanin 12, Šćekić and Vac 6 each.
The next match of the First team will be in the SPAR Cup on Wednesday against Mesarija Prunk Sežana, next Saturday the Portorož team will play again the 4.th round of the 2.SKL against another newcomer in the league, the KD Gorica team (the teams changed the home team in agreement), which won today in Sežana. against MP Sežana.
Both matches will be played without the presence of spectators.
