After two weeks without league matches and quarantine due to Covid-19 infections, the Portoro\u017e team hosted a much strengthened Litije team, which has 3 wins and 2 losses in the championship so far.Portoro\u017e played without the Cveti\u010danin brothers, Katonar, Kavgi\u010d and \u017dikovi\u010d.<\/p>\n\n
Despite the absentees, the rest of Portoro\u017e played very well and deservedly won 89:79 ( 19:19, 22:13, 24:35, 24:12). The road to victory was very difficult, because Litija had a great shooting veteran in Dragan Pusic , who kept filling the basket of the home team and stayed at 29 points. The first quarter ended in a 19:19 tie.In the second quarter, the home team played zone defence and built up a 9-point lead, 41:32.In the second half, the visitors came out firing from all positions, winning the third quarter by 11 points and taking a 65:67 advantage into the final 10 minutes. In the last quarter, Radanovic scored first for 2 points on a personal foul by Kotar , Rade also hit an extra free throw and Portoro\u017e was back in the lead 68:67. The visitors scored 4 points in a row to regain the lead 68:71. Then the home team (13-0) followed with consecutive baskets by Vogrin, \u0160kerbac, Krmac and Rogelj to make it 71:61 , so with 5 minutes to go it looked like the home team would be able to play a more peaceful playoff game. However, the guests did not give up and reduced the deficit to 83:79 with 3:15 left on a basket by Pusic. On the next possession, Rogelja hit a very important three for 86:79. Nervous minutes without baskets followed, and with 45 seconds left Rogelja, first with a steal and then with a basket from a counter-attack, set the final score 89:79. <\/p>\n\n
